"In my artistic works, I blend surreal collages with historical and contemporary elements. Each of my compositions invites you to dive into a narrative world that is both humorous and profound. I play with iconic images and symbols, placing them in new contexts to create new meanings. Through this, I aim to challenge conventional visual perceptions while fully exploring the possibilities of the collage medium. My goal is to spark a thoughtful and intelligent reflection on society and culture through these unique visual narratives."

Dagmar Vogel discovered early on that all her steps would lead to the world of the arts. She lives and works as a photographer and digital collage artist in Berlin.
With training as a typesetter and a degree in photo design, she initially ventured into newspapers and later into the film industry, website creation, and travel writing. As a founder, publisher and co-author of a magazine, she can fully express her creative flair and her passion for writing and photography.
She creates collages because she wants to use the power of composition to tell unique visual stories. By combining different elements, she creates new perspectives and contrasts that are meant to make the viewer think or smile. Collages allow her to explore creative freedom and combine different styles and media. She is fascinated by how random fragments can create a harmonious overall picture.

How do my works come to life?
My digital collages are created through a fascinating combination of historical artworks and modern photography. I primarily work with Photoshop, using public domain image sources from museums around the world as well as my own photos. The elements I select – people, places, and objects – carry their own stories before I reimagine them in a new context.
I start with a loose idea but no fixed concept. As the creative process unfolds, the initial vision often changes. Through experimentation and manipulation, I craft surrealistic pieces that blend different worlds. Sometimes, a clear narrative emerges, while at other times, something completely unexpected takes shape. It is this unpredictability that makes each of my works truly unique and special.
